Conceiving Miracles
The first UCSF IVF patient was treated in 1983, and in 1984, the first UCSF IVF babies were born to couples who shared in our role as forerunners in providing assisted reproductive technology. We were also the first in the area to achieve a pregnancy and birth through the use of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), an innovative technique that requires just one sperm for every egg that is fertilized. Our success emanates from a unique combination of outstanding physicians who are pioneers in their field; expert use of innovative technologies; and personalized patient care provided by professionals who approach couples with knowledge, understanding and respect. We are committed to each patient, offering support, information and counseling as well as the latest technological procedures to make the treatment experience as rewarding and positive as possible.
